Brownson House Fall Girls Basketball Information

The leagues are for 4th, 5th, and 6th grade girls.

Games will be play Monday through Thursday. Starting times will be 5:00, 6:00, 7:00 and 8:00 pm.

4th and 5th graders can ONLY full court press the last minute of the game. The free throw shooter is permitted to jump into the lane on the shot, but if they run into the lane to gain an advantage on the rebound they will be called for a lane violation. All other rules are National Federation Rules.

6th grade game will follow all National Federation Rules.

Games will consist of two 15 minute halves. It is a running clock for the first 13 minutes of each half. During the first 13 minutes of each half the clock will only stop for free throws and time outs. The last two minutes of each half the clock will stop on all whistles.

Each team gets 5 timeouts, 3 full timeouts, and two 30 second timeouts.

Overtime is two minutes. 4th and 5th graders can only press the last minute of overtime. The first minute of overtime the clock is run continuously. The last minute the clock will stop on all whistles. Each team will receive one additional timeout per overtime period.

A 28.5 size ball will be used for all games.

Players can move up in grade but not down. Players can move up to another team from their district or play for another team from the same school district during the REGULAR season. This is to avoid forfeits.


If a team doesn’t have 5 players to start a game it is a forfeit.

All players must attend the school district they are playing for unless they live in the district and attend a school that doesn’t participate in the Brownson House Basketball League.

PIAA officials will be used.

All coaches must provide a criminal background check to the Brownson House. The Brownson House will provide a background check for any coach that doesn’t have one.

The registration fee is $48.00 per player.

The season will consist of 7 regular season games. All teams will qualify for the single elimination playoffs.

The Brownson House charges an admission fee for all games.

  • Adults – $2.50
  • Senior Citizens – $1.50
  • Children (2nd – 12th grade) – $1.50

The season will conclude by the week of Thanksgiving
